"Imagine if you would, a pair of humanoid models, one male, one female, interchangable both in UVmapping and morphs.

Imagine these Meshes to be no more than 15,000 Polygons, and completely Quad-based for easy Render Meshsooths. Think of how easy they would be to work with, and with your meshsmoothing, how good they would look.

Imagine Open Content with these humanoid models. Imagine that anyone could download them and use them in their renders, with credit, of course.
People could download them and create new morphs for them, so as to create new characters in Role-Playing Game sites, or 3d Comics, or even 3d Animation! one could instead of cutting out celebrity faces from pictures, create or request an actors morph and use it!

Imagine Open content with these models, and think of the clothing that could be create, and how interchangable they would be! Star Trek Uniforms, Stargate Uniforms, Fantasy Armor, etc.

Imagine Open content with these models, and think of how easy it would be to create new hair styles, or new aliens by morphs, or new props that could be created to fit these characters.

Imagine the dozens of Texture Maps that would become available for download for both these models. With proper textures, morphs and props you could make Andorians, Klingons, Jaffa, Kobolds, Orcs, anything your imagination could muster up.

Yes, I know what you are thinking. "Why not just use poser?"
Well, I do, where do you think i got the idea. But to be honest, i think poser sucks. The interface is horrible, and the models are 500,000 polygons. You cannot rig that in any other program and expect to work. Plus Poser's rigging itself is quite horrid.
It's time to bring easier access to humanoid models to the community.

Now here is the time for me to step off the soap-box, because, to be honest, I do not have the modelling skills to pull this off.

I need a modeller who would be willing to create these models (one model really, the other gender would have to be morphed off of it to create morph interchangability).
Furthermore, they would have to be willing to let his work become open content. Let anyone create projects and meshes off of it, so long as they maintain credit.

The Physical needs of the model itself are few.
- a 15,000 polygon limit, all quad based so meshmoothing is an option.
- Seperate eye-balls for easy rigging
- modelled mouth for lip-syncing"

"Poser sucks".
I agree, like its users.
