Shadow Casting Problems in Max?

I'm a major 3dsmax noob, so forgive me if this is a totally stupid question.
I'm modelling a building and so far all I'm using is a skylight to light the scene. Some of the newer objects I'm modelling in the scene are being affected by the light but they aren't projecting shadows. I don't understand why though as everything is being lit by the same sky light.
Any help would be appreciated :).
